Next Level is Seeking U.S. Hip Hop Artist Educators For International Exchange Program: Deadline January 6, 2019

Applicants Must Be:

  • A performer in one or more of the following elements of Hip Hop culture: MCing, DJing, Hip Hop dance, aerosol art/writing, beatboxing or beatmaking
  • Teaching/mentoring experience
  • Committed to traveling abroad [2-3 weeks] and to orientation in Washington D.C.
  • U.S. citizens of at least 21 years of age
  • Have a valid U.S. passport
Next Level is an initiative of the U.S Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is administered by Meridian International Center in partnership with the Department of Music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Next Level seeks Hip Hop artist-educators to participate in an international exchange program that goes to 7 countries for 2-3 weeks teaching and performing with underserved communities.
Participants will receive an honorarium ($200/day) and per diem; travel and lodging costs are provided through the program.
Completed applications and supporting materials are due by January 6, 2019, at 11:59p.m. EST.
If accepted, applicants can expect to be notified by March 31, 2019.
