Various Far Rockaway Artists – Self Destruction 2014 Video
The original “Self Destruction” record dropped in 1989 by a collaboration of a literal Who’s Who of top east coast Hip Hop artists under the banner of the Stop the Violence Movement. It was a call for peace during a very violent time. Hip Hop still has the potential to be that voice. Peace is something Far Rockaway in Queens, New York can use. The neighborhood is one where people are often warned not to be after dark. “Self Destruction 2014” is the result of a collaboration with various artists out of Far Rockaway with a similar message to the original. They even mimic the original in many parts. Let the voices of peace prevail.
