Here’s the Shady Records lineup cypher from Eminem, Slaughterhouse (Royce the 5’9″, Joe Budden, Joel Ortiz, and Crooked I), and Yelawolf. Each verse is shot in the hometown of each member. Not surprisingly, Eminem’s verse has created controversy because of the Ray Rice related comments but you can’t deny he went in. Crooked didn’t come to play around. Ortiz does what he’s known to do as well. Budden and Royce are undisputed monsters with the bars but I was disappointed that their offerings were as high as they are capable of. Yelawolf on the other hand didn’t make the grade at all in my opinion and felt extremely out of place among the caliber of lyrics he was showcased next to. All in all though, still a better showing than the BET Cyphers this year.
