Joyner Lucas & Will Smith-Will (Remix) Video

Will Smith hopped on the Joyner Lucas track “Will” with an original verse of his own. The Fresh Prince proves that he’s still fresh. I’ve never heard Will rhyme like this. This flow, cadence, and rhyme scheme is a pleasant surprise from Big Willie. As Joyner penned an ode to Smith, Will gives respects to those who influenced him like Dr. Jay, Mandela, and Ali. Smith is in top form recounting his path to the present with lines like;

“60 million records sold, I was on fire, I didn’t even need a grill,
Did it all with no cuss words, I didn’t have to curse just to keep it real”

and

“Even when the streets called me corny, I still ain’t let the hate break me
I just wanted the respect first, I still ain’t letting fame change me”

It was about a month ago that Joyner Lucas surprised the world with the song “Will”; an homage of sorts to Will Smith where Lucas shows his respect for the rapper/actor. The video saw Joyner portraying the different characters Will Smith has played throughout his career.

The video didn’t just catch the Internet’s attention but also that of Mr. Smith himself, who posted about it on his Instagram. Following that, Lucas and Smith had their first meeting via video chat where the two expressed their mutual respect for one another. A collab wasn’t among the discussion that the public heard but here we are.
