Joyner Lucas – I’m Not Racist Video

Joyner Lucas pens a powerful argument for the need to listen to each other in order to understand each other. The video further highlights the divide between the two sides of the argument with each party (a young black man and a white man wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat) facing each other while the camera pans past from behind a pole. I’ve never heard of Joyner Lucas before and from him having a Breakfast Club interview I guess I’m late to the party but I’m listening now. Hip Hop needs more of this.

Lucas brings up a lot of valid points while communicating how each side feels. If anything this song can definitely spark some much needed conversation between those willing to listen. That’s the real trick isn’t it though – finding people willing to listen?
