Yonas – I Could Video

PR:
Bronx emcee Yonas teams up with Better Days Productions for a powerful video for the single “I Could,” from Yonas’ forthcoming, soon-to-be-titled album. In the video, the Bronx native is seen walking the streets of New York relaying words of enlightenment and hope, simultaneously juxtaposing that hope against shots of despair, as he assumes dual roles in the video – Yonas the rapper and struggling homeless person. “As a person aspiring to achieve my dreams,” says Yonas, “I just always want to make sure I document both the highlights, and the struggles, and never one more than the other.”

With “I Could,” it’s hope that eventually wins out, and it’s no surprise, either; Yonas is true to himself in his music and Yonas has been all about perseverance, in music and life. “Whatever it is you feel hopeless about, there’s still a brighter tomorrow,” says Yonas. “I believe that with all of my heart. There are times in my life where I feel I could so easily turn my back on my responsibilities, but I was born a hopeful person with a fighting spirit, and if I can share that with people in any way, I’m going to.”

Yonas’ new album will be available February 14, 2011.
