Skillz has been deflecting questions about a 2021 Rap up for weeks. He said multiple times that there wasn’t going to be a rap up this year – a claim he’s made the last several years. People were pleasantly surprised when Skillz popped up suddenly with the 2021 Rap Up over the Jay-Z “Encore” beat.
Skillz’ Rap Up has become an expected tradition in Hip Hop and fans showed their appreciation for his efforts with snapshots of $20 cash app payment offerings to the the formerly named Mad Skillz.
This year makes 20 years of Rap Ups for Skillz. Other’s have attempted to take what Skillz has done and replicated it but as he says in the beginning of this one “can’t nobody do it like that VA boy”. Skillz chose the “Encore” beat as he’s says this will be his last year end review. We’ve heard that before.
