Childish Gambino – This Is America Video

Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino doesn’t know how not to create. Rapper, currently stars in a TV show, is playing the character Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo stand-alone film, a character that Billy Dee Williams first made famous, comedian, writer, producer, etc. etc. etc. His latest creation, “This Is America”, paints a not so subtle picture of life in America for black people. The song mixes African singing with modern Hip Hop production to provide the vehicle for Gambino to deliver his vocal message. The visual message is communicated through a blend of African and Hip Hop dance, slave appearance, and at times shocking imagery.

While not usually a fan of the trap style delivery, the message here is clear. This Is America.
