Uncle Murda – 2025 Rap Up

Uncle Murda’s 2025 Rap Up lands as another loud, unfiltered chapter in a hip-hop tradition that goes back more than two decades. The year-end Rap Up format was pioneered by Mad Skillz, who turned reflective, end-of-year commentary into a hip-hop staple. As Skillz stepped away on and off over the years, others carried the torch, and Uncle Murda became the most consistent heir to that lane. Murda has now been doing his Rap Ups for well over a decade, and unlike Skillz’s balanced, almost journalistic tone, Murda’s version has always leaned toward raw street commentary, confrontation, and unapologetic name-calling.

This year’s installment sticks firmly to that formula. Clocking in at a massive 17 minutes and 45 seconds, Murda unloads on just about everyone. He takes direct shots at Diddy over the ongoing legal chaos, revisits Atlanta’s snitching debates involving Young Thug and Gunna, and doesn’t spare artists like Nicki Minaj, Ja Rule, Jim Jones, Summer Walker, or even media figures like DJ Vlad and Hot 97 personalities. Nothing is subtle here. Murda raps like he’s airing out group chats in public, often repeating rumors, leaked audio, and viral moments with no concern for diplomacy. Where Skillz might summarize a situation, Murda attacks it head-on.

At the same time, the Rap Up doubles as heavy self-promotion. Murda repeatedly bows to 50 Cent, aligning himself closely with G-Unit, praising 50’s moves, and defending his grudges as if they’re shared missions. He also plugs his podcast, business ventures, and affiliations throughout the song, making the Rap Up feel less like a neutral recap and more like a personal victory lap. Love it or hate it, Uncle Murda’s 2025 Rap Up proves why his version of the tradition still draws attention every January: it’s messy, aggressive, oversized, and impossible to ignore.
