Back To Tha Future Coming Soon!

New York, NY — As one of the most anticipated artists of the new generation, Jae Millz has been patiently preparing his debut album, Back To Tha Future. He just put the finishing touches on a new Ron Browz-produced track with Jadakiss, and to keep the streets buzzing, Jae is also working with Atlanta’s Aphilliates crew on a new edition of DJ Drama’s infamous Gangsta Grillz mixtapes. Jae’s collaboration with T.I. and Slim Thug “Head Popped Off” is currently featured on the DJ Drama/Dame Dash Ultimate Hustler Mixtape.

The year has been full of activity for the young Harlem lyricist. Soon after releasing the buzz single “Streetz Melting” featuring Swizz Beatz, Jae Millz was selected by MTV as the first You Hear It First artist for 2005. He traveled the country to promote his summer favorite “Who” produced by Ron Browz, and as the video for “Who” garnered a steady rotation on BET, the Cool & Dre-produced club track “I Like That” was sent out to radio. Despite the growing buzz, the decision was made to push the September release of Back To Tha Future to first quarter 2006.

In order to re-group and properly market the project, Wanna Blow recently partnered with SRC. Headed by industry trailblazer Steve Rifkind, the label is also home to David Banner, Terror Squad’s Remy Ma, and R&B sensation Akon. “We are very excited about Jae coming to SRC. His talent and charisma are incredible,” says Steve Rifkind. “He and the Wanna Blow family really have a vision that goes to A to Z – they see the whole picture. We can’t wait to get started.”

Never one to be complacent, Jae has been in the studio recording several new tracks, including collabos with Paul Wall, Webbie, Lil Boosie, and Akon. His current “Go Crazy” freestyle has been a fan favorite on New York radio, and has spread quickly through the internet. Jae Millz has more suprises in store, so stay tuned!

Jae Millz Bio
Jae Millz is that rare artist that stands out above the rest. Repping Harlem, New York in the vein of artists before him that include Doug E. Fresh, Sean “P. Diddy ” Combs, Cam’ron, Mase and the legendary late Big L, Jae Millz is destined to be the next great lyricist for the new generation of fans. With his status as an underground legend secure, he is set to make his major label debut with the heavily anticipated SRC/Universal Records release Back To Tha Future in early 2006.

The album’s title signifies not only a powerful voice emerging within the Hip Hop landscape, but a one-man movement that underlines Jae Millz’ no-nonsense approach to writing. “I named it Back To Tha Future because I felt Hip Hop was missing Hip Hop, ” Jae says. “I’m going to take it back when the game was about Hip Hop when it was about lyrics. ”

Born in New York’s Washington Heights, Jae recalls his earliest memories of music through his family’s diverse record collection that included musical giants Barry White, Al Green and Prince. It was in 1997 while attending New York’s High School of Art and Design that Jae Millz honed his lyrical abilities in the lunchroom, battling all comers. After taking his verbal ferocity out on the streets of Harlem, the 15-year-old emcee was noticed by Tupac Shakur’s wife at the time, Keisha Morris, who introduced him to the well-connected forces behind Wanna Blow Entertainment. Soon after that pivotal moment, Jae was soaking up game from some of rap’s biggest talents including P. Diddy, Lil Kim, Mysonne, and Mase, whom he credits with making an indelible impression on him.

After dropping exclusive freestyles and songs for New York mixtape moguls DJ Kay Slay and DJ Enuff, Jae Millz became an icon in the streets, and the industry buzz grew rapidly. P. Diddy enlisted Jae to appear on 2003’s popular MTV reality series Making The Band for a freestyle battle with E. Ness. Jae was dominating the mixtape and underground battle rhyme scene, and by late 2004 he was riding high with a new deal at Warner Bros. and the thumping single “No, No, No “. Following the release of the single, fans waited anxiously for the album to drop, but it never happened, and they parted ways with the label.

Within two weeks of leaving Warner Bros., Wanna Blow had two deals on the table for Jae. The team decided to go with Universal Records, and things have been moving toward the official release of the album. Jae found a symbolic connection in the match up. “My style is the same as the label I’m on – universal. I could rap anywhere, ” he explains. “I have down South music, music for the ladies, music for people struggling, music for true Hip Hop lovers. In all honesty, I’m a rapper’s rapper, and I make music for everybody, because at the end of the day I’m human. I go through the same things that everybody else goes through. ”

Back To Tha Future boasts guest appearances from TI, Slim Thug, Swizz Beatz and more in the works. Masterful production from prolific street-anthem creators includes Swizz Beatz, Scram Jones, Omen, DJ Khaled, Amadeus, Heatmakerz, Ron Browz, Cool & Dre, and Emile. Jae’s creative expression grows with each new studio session, and the diversity of tracks on his album is indicative of his growth. Setting things off, his raw, true-to-the-streets flow shines on “Who “, a single produced by Ron Browz, who was also responsible for Nas’ hit Jay-Z diss track “Ether “.

While Jae Millz represents the uptown hoods of New York on the Crown-produced anthem “212 “, he takes on a more universal theme with “Cold World “, a track he made with underground beat phenom Emile. Reaching deeper into his arsenal of poetic thoughts, Jae brings forth one for the ladies with “That Woman ” which features songstress Denim. “I know everybody is expecting me to come with the average “Oh baby I love you track, but instead I’m sending some respect in every woman’s direction. Whether it be old or young, wives, baby mothers, daughters, sisters – whatever case may be, I’m just pointing out the fact that we should all show a little respect to that woman. It’s only right. ”

“I Like That ” was spawned by the Miami production team of Cool & Dre. The Wanna Blow camp frequents Miami’s trendy hot spots, and capturing that flavor was essential to Jae. Another Miami icon, DJ Khaled, laced a thrashing bassline for “Live From Jerusalem “, a lyrically fierce song that Jae describes as “opening the door of a lion’s cage “.

Getting even more intense, Jae shares his innermost thoughts on “Feel At The Moment “, which he cites as his favorite track on the album. “I don’t usually talk about my personal life too much, but this is one of those songs where I just let everything out. From family problems, to daily life problems, to relationship issues – I even address a couple issues with my father. To me this is the realest, most vivid track on the album. ”

“Making an album is comfortable – it’s like your diary, ” he continues. “You don’t even have to talk some bullsh*t, you can talk what you go through. As much as people want to hear you talk some funny shit and floss and front, they want to know what you go through and know that you’re human. They want to feel like you’re on the same level as them. I try to put a lot of reality into my songs, and with this album I want people to understand that I can spit and I do the battles and freestyle and have fun, but I take my music very seriously. ”

Jae Millz knows that his musical vision will continue to grow, and his business mind will benefit from his experiences. In the long run, he would like to see his label prosper and bring in new talent. “I want Wanna Blow to evolve into a really musical label, ” he explains. “Whatever it is, I just want to give people chances, because labels aren’t giving people chances these days – you need a cosigner. We don’t need that now – we didn’t have that and we’re still doing what we do. “
