“Show and Prove was a fantastic success. Better than we imagined. The difficult part for us was picking the winner(s). 8thW1, Sleepwalkas, and THOSE CHOSEN were all impressive. We look forward to working with them as well as all of our other Show and Prove semifinalists in the future,” Wes Jackson, Festival Executive Director. “Brokn Englsh, COTN, and Brown Bag truly represent the goal of Show and Prove and the Festival in general. Hard working artists, refining their craft, and building their brand.”

As overall winners, Brown Bag All Stars will open the show and perform on the Main Stage June 20th at Empire Fulton Ferry State Park along with Pharoahe Monch, DJ Premier, Styles P, Smif N Wessun and more. Brown Bag All Stars

In early 2008, eight artists employed by Fat Beats New York decided to form a rap group. Every day they sold records to customers who want good, honest music. They figured they knew enough to make it themselves. They
were right. The name they chose was The Brown Bag All-stars, the name stems from the brown bags distributed at bodegas. They consist of DJ, MC, producer Audible Doctor, MC and producer J57, Cold Codeine, MD Koncept, MC Soul Khan, DJ E Holla, DJ Element, and Goo. Each artist holds their own within the group and when they all come together they create an authentic energy that only true hip hopers can form.
