The chameleon of hip-hop, Sareem Poems is back once again, with the release of the “Lower the Boom” Skadaddle Cartoon Mix featuring Pigeon John and Akil, from the newly released Black and Read All Over Deluxe Edition. The heavy bass beats, gospel fueled hook and unmistakable lyrical flow of the Long Beach native combine to serve a fresh new angle on the album’s centerpiece track. The main inspiration behind this track was, “to give the essence of hip-hop back to the listener, in an era of auto tune and overly synthesized beats.”

In an industry often stereotyped by guns and violence, Sareem Poem’s music is a breathe of fresh air as he goes against the grain, weaving rhymes of truth and soul. When asked why he decided to re-release the project, Michael Tolle of Mello Music Group explains, “The promotional remixes started coming back and garnered so much attention… that we felt we had to re-release the project with them included. We really wanted to make it worth people’ s while since the project had already dropped, so we (gave) people the whole package.” Check out the Black and Read All Over Deluxe Edition available everywhere via Mello Music Group.

The Background:

For Sareem Poems, love is the revolution. The Long Beach, California bred emcee maintains a humble mentality while combining complex metaphors, catchy hooks, and heavy bass tone vocals. His positive music changes expectations within hip-hop as he speaks with truth & soul, omitting anything reminiscent of gun glorifying, thugged out rap. No novice to recording major releases, Sareem earned his stripes with the LA Symphony crew. He is now following up on the success of his Blooming Sounds project by enlisting Theory Hazit to man the boards on his newest release, as well as some guest production by D.C. super-producer Oddisee. The new album, Black & Read All Over Deluxe Edition, lets the raw vocals of Sareem Poems’ gospel mix with the haunting voice of Georgia Anne Muldrow, up-beat rhymes of Pigeon John, and Akil of J-5, along with a plethora of other prominent guests including Ragen Fykes who possesses one of the most beautiful voices in music today. The Deluxe Edition includes all 14 album cuts with their respective instrumentals, 5 remix tracks, and original artwork by Gene Pendon of HVW8 also included.
