PacTour Announces Tour Dates: Saosin, P.O.S., Innerpartysystem and Eye Alaska Kick-Off 11/6 in LA

PACSUN KICKS OFF NATIONWIDE CONCERT TOUR NOVEMBER 6TH IN L.A.

2009 PacTour to Feature Headlining Artist Saosin, Co-Supporting Artists,
P.O.S. and Innerpartysystem with opening act Eye Alaska

LOS ANGELES — September 2, 2009 — PacSun, the clothing store inspired by the California lifestyle, has officially announced tour kick-off, November 6th in Los Angeles, CA at the House of Blues and wraps December 20th at House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. Saosin, P.O.S., Innerpartysystem, and Eye Alaska as well as local battle of the band contest winners will be performing on each date.

“The diverse lineup this year makes me very excited” says Josh Hubberman, Manager of Music Marketing for PacSun. “Kids aren’t just listening to one genre of music these days and PacTour is a great place for them to be exposed to new music styles.” PacSun stores near each tour stop will again play host to PacTour bands each day of the tour for free and intimate in-store acoustic sessions. Not only can fans show up for the performance and meet and greet, but this year, Ernie Ball will be giving away a free guitar at every in-store performance. Stay tuned for specific in-store performance dates and locations.

Saosin erupted out of Orange County in 2003. The follow-up to Saosin’s 2006 self-titled full-length debut, which bowed at No. 22 on The Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart, In Search Of Solid Ground charts a journey with universal themes – mankind’s search for truth and meaning, the fragility of relationships, the pain implicit in growth and goodbyes – from a fresh perspective. Hailed as one of the most anticipated albums of 2009 by Alternative Press, In Search Of Solid Ground is a remarkable step forward for Saosin.

P.O.S. (Rhymesayers) is an artist whose music blurs genre lines. His most recent release “Never Better,” equal parts hip-hop and punk rock, stretched far beyond the conventional underground hip-hop scene. It’s been a busy year for P.O.S. who’s traversed the country on his own headline tour, the entire Warped Tour and a stint opening for Atmosphere. New York Times praised P.O.S. as one of the breakout artists of SXSW 2009. “”Never Better,” is an early candidate for best hip-hop album of 2009. P.O.S. has bona fide star quality; it’s easy to imagine him achieving the same level of mainstream success as Mos Def or Common.” – Metromix

Innerpartysystem started writing songs together, inspired by both their love of electronic music and hardcore punk. Says Innerpartysystem: “When you see us, there’s a real aggressive vibe in some ways to what we do, and then there’s also this party atmosphere.” The band has begun working on a second album. “We don’t know exactly what it will become, but this year has been a huge growth experience for all of us. The underlying theme of the material so far just seems to be ‘bigger.’ Bigger sounds, bolder statements, and creating a larger than life video, online, and live presence… like we’ve always done.”

Eye Alaska’s eclectic sound, self-branded as “cinematic rock”, has never been more defined than on new album Genesis Underground. Orchestrated by renowned producer Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Faith No More, Sheryl Crow) and co-produced by Eye Alaska’s frontman Brandon Wronski, Genesis Underground encompasses pop rock, hip hop and laid back lounge, building on the Orange, CA quintet’s reputation for grandiose-yet-meticulous delivery. Following their successful main stage performance at Bamboozle left Festival for the second year in a row, Eye Alaska has just wrapped up a U.S. tour with The Cab.

In conjunction with the PacTour, PacSun has launched the PacTour “Battle of the Bands” competition, powered by FameCast, in which bands can enter to perform on their local city date. From the pool of local battle winners, one grand prize winning band will be selected to receive a prize pack worth over $15,000. To enter, check out: pacsun.com/battleofthebands and encourage fans to rate, comment and repost. 6 finalists will be chosen per PacTour market, and will then battle it out for a slot on their local PacTour date.
