The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival Has A New Home Online

The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival (BHF) launches their new official site, www.brooklynbodega.com and gear up for the 2nd Annual event.

February 1st - Brooklynbodega.com will now serve as the online destination for the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, providing daily updates as well as artist and ticket information. Fans can also sign up for the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival newsletter which will provide mobile updates via text and email. “The Bodega site is going to be a useful tool to help promote the Festival before and after the event. We are also going to be using some new technology that will reshape event marketing,” says Alma Geddy-Romero, Festival Organizer. The 2nd annual event is set to take place on June 24th, 2006. Announcements of a new venue and performers for 2006 will be announced in the next few weeks.

The BHF is a free event, celebrating Hip Hop music and culture in New York’s most beautiful borough. While the event features Brooklyn-based artists, the mission of the BHF is to showcase the best of Hip Hop and to highlight the borough of Brooklyn as one of the country’s premier cultural destinations. The 2006 venue for the event will be announced shortly. “We’ve been working on finding a more permanent home for the BHF for a while now,” said Geddy-Romero. “I think we’ve found a place that will grow with the Festival as the years go on, and provide a perfect backdrop for the event.” Organizers promise to provide a wide variety of programming from straight up Hip Hop to Funk, Soul and Jazz. “We want to keep it fresh, a show that you can bring your kids to, and enjoy a day of sun and Hip-Hop culture in BK,” said Wes Jackson, founder of Room Service Productions, the producers of the event. Over 1,200 spectators enjoyed the 1st Annual Festival that featured performances from Brand Nubian, Little Brother, Rhymefest, Leela James, and more.

The BHF is produced by Room Service Productions, The Brooklyn Brewery, and Seven Heads Entertainment.
