Brooklyn Bodega, announces that Homeboy Sandman, Eternia, Shad, Nitty Scott and Kid Glyde will be joining this year’s line-up for the 7th Annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival (BHF) in Dumbo, NY.

Festival producers recently made headlines with the news that they would be working closely with the legendary Q-Tip to curate “Q-Tip & Friends,” a celebration of Hip-Hop with the help of a legendary rolodex of established and fresh talent.

The announcement of the “Friends” is coming soon. In the meantime, Brooklyn Bodega is excited to announce independent, homegrown, developing acts that have the kind of fresh-energy that is hard to ignore. The same way Q-Tip epitomizes the Bodega’s mission statement, this next round of artists have refined their talents, made the rounds in the Hip-Hop scene, pushed the artform forward and established themselves with killer, live shows.

“Homeboy Sandman has been down with us for years, performing and hosting. We are happy to feature him properly. Canadian newcomer Shad brings us that Hip-Hop essence from the North. We have taken some heat over the years for not featuring enough female MC’s. I am happy to say Eternia and up-and-comer Nitty Scott are on the bill not because of their gender but because of their skills and killer show.”
– Wes Jackson, Executive Director, The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival

Further enlarging the scope of artists that grace the Festival’s stage each year in Brooklyn, B-Boy Kid Glyde is performing break dance routines as part of Family Day on Saturday, July 16th.

The Festival has a rich history of breaking the best and brightest newcomers including: Lupe Fiasco, Rhymefest, 88- Keys, Strange Fruit Project, Skyzoo and a host of others. These acts have gone on to win Grammy’s, been featured in nationwide ad campaigns, toured the world, and more.
