PR:
Red Bull Studio regular and south London based MC/producer Ghostpoet came to the Red Bull Studios to record a live version of Cash And Carry Me Home for the PinBoard Blog’s intimate Rehearsal Rooms series.

Having just returned from a series of live gigs supporting Jamie Woon, Obaro Ejimiwe left audiences speechless at a sold out gig at the iconic Scala, London with his bespoke style of story telling, table full of samplers and live band. Fresh off the heels of his debut release Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam via Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings, Ghostpoet has been busy touring all over the UK and gaining accolades from tastemakers like RCRDLBL, BBC, Fader, XLR8R and more.

Far from the style of a traditional emcee, Ghostpoet, who calls himself “a lad with a lisp and some stories to tell,” revels in the small observations in life and the poetry that can stem from looking a little bit deeper. His genuinely unique sound juxtaposes a lazy baritone over of a current of pulsing and cerebral beats.

Raised in Coventry by a Dominican mother and a Nigerian father, Ghostpoet moved to London a few years ago where he was handpicked by Gilles Peterson and later signed to his label Brownswood Recordings. Ghostpoet’s debut full-length album Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam was released on February 7th.
