EVERLAST Records Original Theme Song for TNT Drama Series Saving Grace

LOS ANGELES – (July 13, 2007) – Multi-platinum recording artist, Everlast, has written and recorded the theme song for TNT’s new drama series, “Saving Grace,” starring acclaimed Academy Award-winning actress, Holly Hunter, and premiering July 23 at 10 p.m. on TNT.

The song, also called “Saving Grace,” will play during the show’s main title sequence and end credits.  It will release as a full-length track and video, available at major online music retailers including iTunes (www.itunes.com) and Rhapsody (www.rhapsody.com).  The song will also stream at TNT.com (www.tnt.tv).

The music of Everlast (born Erik Schrody) proved inspirational to show creator and executive producer Nancy Miller, who listened to Everlast recordings – particularly the 2004 track “Lonely Road” – while writing the pilot script.  Once TNT ordered the series, Fox Television Studios (FtvS), which produces the show for TNT, and Fox Music worked to harness that inspiration, ultimately striking a deal with the Grammy-winning artist to write and record “Saving Grace.”  FtvS is currently exploring licensing other Everlast material for use in individual episodes.

Miller said, “I was turned on to Everlast by our music supervisor.  The second I heard his voice I went crazy over it.  He has such a sexy, interesting voice.  I fell in love with his music; in fact, I listened to his CDs in my car so much that I burned them out.  His lyrics speak so much to the struggle of Grace – her pain, her heroic nature – that I immediately connected to them.  I feel like Everlast is the musical ‘Godfather’ of our series.”

Everlast commented, “It was great to get the call from Fox – not only to find out that Nancy Miller was a fan, but also to be asked to write a song for such a cool show.  The timing couldn’t be better; I’m back in the studio working on a new album.  This project was a great way to kick that off.”

About The Show
Saving Grace is a provocative new hour-long drama series starring Academy Award-winner Holly Hunter as Grace Hanadarko, an intense, cynical and sexy Oklahoma City police detective.  Despite being at the top of her field, Grace lives life wild – hard, fast and on the edge.  She drinks too much.  She sleeps with the wrong men.  Wicked-smart and tough, Grace hits bottom one night when she slams into a pedestrian while she is driving drunk.  Horrified at the realization of what she’s done, Grace uncharacteristically asks for help, and receives it in the form of an unconventional angel named Earl.  The journey, for both of them, will not be an easy one.  For Grace, it will bring up life’s most complicated issues.  Each episode of “Saving Grace” revolves around a specific case that the detectives are trying to solve, while delving deeper into the characters’ personal lives.
SAVING GRACE is produced for TNT by Fox Television Studios and creator Nancy Miller (Any Day Now).  Miller also serves as executive producer on the series, along with Gary A. Randall (Any Day Now, Leaving LA) and Artie Mandelberg (Leaving L.A., Mr. & Mrs. Smith).
