Busta Rhymes arrested

Busta RhymesRapper Busta Rhymes was arrested following his appearance at the Heineken Amsterjam Festival last night in New York City.

The
charges stem from an incident that occured on Aug. 12. Rhymes, real
name Trevor Smith, allegedly assaulted a man who spit at his car. The New York Post reports that police found a machete in the rapper’s car. As a result, he may face weapons charges.

Supposedly, based on The Daily News, New
York police took the opportunity to question Rhymes in regards to the
shooting death of his body guard, Israel Ramirez. The rapper sparked
controversy by refusing to cooperate with police during their
investigation.

On last night’s arrest, The Daily News quotes a source:

“I
don’t know if this is normally something he would even be arrested for,
but his bouncer was killed and he didn’t want to cooperate. This is our
way of dealing with it.”

In addition, the News mentions that two of Busta’s entourage were taken into custody and released with the rapper.
