Brooklyn, NY, April 20th 2009
After a show stopping performance at last Thursday’s ‘Show and Prove’ Brooklyn Bodega, producers of The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival today announced the winner of the second installment of the competition. The winner is The Brown Bag All-Stars.

The group consisting of Audible Doctor, J57, Cold Codeine, Koncept, Soul Khan, E Holla, Element, and Goo helped pack the house at Public Assembly and thoroughly impressed the Bodega crew in attendance.

“I want to congratulate Brown Bag on a killer show last week. They hit the stage with energy and enthusiasm that was infectious. They made a lasting impression on all of us. I also want to thank Cymarshall Law and Mr. Beatz who helped us pack Public Assembly to capacity. Even they are not the winners they have our attention for sure,” Wes Jackson, Executive Director of The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival.

When asked what was it that Brown Bag did to seal the deal Jackson responded by saying, “They did a good job of translating their brand on stage. The vibe we got from their submission was this powerful group of Hip-Hop junkies ready to attack any stage. That was exactly what we felt. On a marketing level they brought out the most people. They spent time after the show speaking with our staff and gave us a better understanding of their mission. The show was well organized, concentrated and crisp. I enjoyed all the acts but at the end of the day they brought it on all levels.”

Semifinalists for the May 21st ‘Show and Prove’, the last before the Festival will be announced this week.

Brown Bag All Stars joined Children Of The Night as the first two of three finalists in the Show and Prove competition. There is still time to enter for May. Send links to audio and video content to showandprove@brooklynbodega.com.
