4th Pyramid – Webslinger Video

PR:

It’s safe to say Toronto has become somewhat of a hotbed for hip-hop. From Drake to The Weeknd – Marco Polo to Saukrates – and more, the T Dot has been spitting out a variety of talent over the years. And the latest to emerge is 4th Pyramid, who will release his official debut solo album The Pyramid Scheme on March 13th via Silk Ivory/Lyrics To Go/Universal Music.

Despite The Pyramid Scheme serving as Pyramid’s official debut, the rapper/producer/engineer has cut his teeth behind the scenes for some time now, collaborating with a list of artists that includes names and labels such as Wu-Tang Clan, Definitive Jux, MF Doom, Pete Rock, and even the Black Eyed Peas. He’s also one half of the DJ/production team The Sheen Bros, along with Cosmo Baker, and the duo released their 2011 EP through Scion’s A/V label. Pyramid’s new album, The Pyramid Scheme, will include features and production from the likes of Greg Nice, Marco Polo, Saukrates, Rich Kidd, and more, and to kick things off, Pyramid is excited to release the album’s debut single and video,“Webslinger.” The song, a lyrical assault produced by Simahlak, is backed with a video directed by Adrian Parks and Pyramid, himself, with co-direction and set design by Johnny Nghiem, and the clip contains some dangerously appropriate visuals, centered around a tarantula crawling loose across a woman’s naked, heavily tattooed body. “I wanted to do something a little more intriguing than the average video so I thought, ‘why not?'” explains Pyramid. “And what better canvas than the female body?”
